Dear President Mokgweetsi Masisi, I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am saying good health because I know that that predecessor of yours Former President Lt Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama is giving you sleepless nights with his yellow baby the Botswana Patriotic Front.
Anyway this letter is not about your feud and your predecessor. I am here to address national issues which I believe you should be channelling your energies into, instead of focusing on who is about to oust you from your presidency seat.
I do not know what has changed, but my president when you assumed the first office in the country, you were on fire. I mean, on your inauguration day rain poured making us to believe that you are some sort of Messiah sent to emancipate us from former President Ian Khama miseries. Few months in office, changing policies mostly revising Khama legacy policies.
Owai! Poor Batswana they had no idea they were lying to themselves. Just like Khama we were being deceived by another leader who is hungry for power and will do anything to retain it.
President Mokgweetsi Masisi, if you think I am decampaining you or tarnishing your image, then I advice you introspect. There are so many issues that I can talk about, which precisely denote you unfit for Presidency. But since I am still going to use this platform to address those, in this letter I will only focus on one of them which is Performance Management & Delivery Unit (PEMANDU).
First why did you invite western consultants to come here, scrutinize your government’s paying system and then you refuse to implement their recommendations?
No! this is crap my President. The civil servants are tired and fed up with your government taking pride in impoverishing us. In fact your government especially you President Mokgweetsi Masisi takes civil servants for granted. Eight years back you were so affirmative when your former boss Ian Khama deprived civil servants their right to strike during the 2009 strike.
Come to think about it, you were at the helm of this, going around state media telling everyone how government does not have financial resource to pay us. Today is you again refusing to implement the Pemandu recommendations.
Why are you doing this to us my President, why do you hate civil servants so much? I hear some of the reasons you refuse to execute those recommendations is because they mostly address the Umbrella for Democratic Change manifesto. Out of your pride, you do not want this to decampaign you because you know that Duma Boko guy will go around saying you are implementing their manifesto.
My advice, just do it my President. I mean you have already proven you have profound love for the UDC manifesto by making it part of your agenda when addressing political rallies, so you might as well implement it.Your government has lied to us is enough. Just implement those recommendations if you really care about the civil servants of this country like you claim to be in your political rallies.
