Did Khama lie?


This past weekend a video went viral on social media which featured former President Lt Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama addressing the people of Okavango at a setup which looked like a political rally.

This was the first public address Khama made post the General Elections. Although he spoke of many things including  the BDP undeserving win according to him, and how Masisi led party riggered elections. Khama gave serious accusations that left many dazed.

According to Khama when Duma Boko wife Kaone Boko, went to cast her vote, she was met with shocking revelations that her name was not appearing on the voters roll. President Mokgweetsi Masisi predecessor pointed out that Boko wife name not appearing on the voters roll was a deliberate move by IEC to push Umbrella for Democratic Change to a defeat in the 2019 General Elections.

The Parrot News Online contacted the UDC Spokesperson Moeti Mohwasa  to confirm the allegations. Mohwasa refused to give any comment on Khama statement saying he is still waiting for the constituency (Gaborone Bonnington North) report from the Independent Electoral Commission.

When asked if is true they did not include Mrs Boko names on the voters roll, the IEC Spokesperson Osupile Maroba dismissed the allegations saying there is no truth in Khama words.

” I can confirm to you that Mrs Boko name appeared on the voters roll” said IEC mouth piece.

Khama earlier this year formerd a new movement which its mandate was to see President Mokgweetsi Masisi not ruling this country. The former President before elections would campaign more than four times in different constituencies in efforts to lobby voters not to vote for the  now Presidential elect Mokgweetsi Masisi.

Masisi will be inaugurated this coming Friday for the first time in the history of this country at University of Botswana Indoor  sports Arena.
