FNBB seeks to empower media practitioners

Gaborone 28 November 2019 – First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) hosted a media engagement session this Thursday at Oodi Off-road Xtreme. The event gathered local journalists from various media houses and segments, including online, radio, TV, press and magazine. Among the attendees were business, lifestyle and sports reporters as well as social media influencers.

Speaking at the event Boga Chilinde-Masebu Communications and PR Manager for FNBB said that FNBB continuously seeks ways to empower media practitioners and grow the journalism profession.

“I am delighted to announce that this year, we will be participating at the MISA Botswana Media Awards 2019, scheduled for the 5th December 2019. In addition to partnering with MISA Botswana for the event, we are sponsoring the Business Reporter of the year Award under the Broadcast Media category” she stated.

Chilinde-Masebu further highlighted FNB’s long standing commitment towards supporting media development and growth in Botswana.

“FNB has several programmes that aim to collectively work with the media to improve professionalism. The Bank has been running a Journalism Academy for the past 4 years to improve business and financial reporting, with special emphasis on analyzing and interpreting financial statements”, said Chilinde-Masebu

She said that the next edition of the Journalism Academy is scheduled to take place on 29-31st January 2020.
