BFA to punish acts of violence between Supporters


The match that had most persons around the country on their toes between Gaborone United and Township Rollers does not only have hearts requiring mending but have led to Botswana’s governing body BFA carrying investigations on scores of violence.

The match which ended in favor of The Reds with a 2-1 victory, experienced ugly scenes of violence between the followers. It is said that all people involved will be punished following completion of investigations. Bottles of liquor were allegedly thrown at other supporters and even officials.

“Anyone responsible for these disturbances cannot be seen as a true Football supporter and they are not welcome in football. They are an embarrassment to the game and the thousands of well-behaved fans who follow the local league in the right way, “BFA.
